About Mike

Mike Breen is a highly experienced Yonkers City Councilman, having served in the role for over a decade. During this time, he has also served as the Minority Leader of the council for four years. As a lifelong resident of Southern Westchester, Mike is deeply committed to the community and has been actively involved in numerous civic groups and organizations throughout his career. He has served as the former President of the Longvale Homeowners Association and as a member of the Tuckahoe Rd Watchdog Group. Additionally, Mike has been a coach for the St. Joseph’s Parish softball team and has been a member of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Club for many years, where he served as treasurer.

Alongside his extensive community involvement, Mike is also a successful business owner, having co-owned Pondfield Trip Service for 25 years. He has also served as a volunteer member of the Westchester County Taxi & Limousine Commission for 14 years. Mike graduated from Fordham University with a BA in Communications and has four children who were raised in Yonkers, two of whom are Yonkers Police Officers. As the Chair of the Yonkers City Council Municipal Operations and Public Safety Committee, Mike is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of Yonkers residents.

Mike has two children are police officers so he is committed to enacting policies that support public safety and law enforcement while also ensuring that Yonkers remains an affordable place for families to live as your Minority Leader.

Mike collaborates with his colleagues on the council and listens to the community's needs to get things done for his constituents. He takes pride in providing quality services to ensure their needs are met and voices are heard, improving the overall well-being of the community.
